After the last hour and a half of listening to the jam, I just have to say... The more I listen to it, the more I love the jams from this year. How did we possibly pull off sounding so together when we only practice together once a year.
Just imagine what we could do if we lived near each other and got to jam together weekly. The possibilities would be endless.

Agreed Joby. And who knows .. maybe one day we'll all live close enough together to do it more than once a year again.
As far as the list goes - it's done. I'm about to give it another once-over. When I'm done, I plan on sending it to you and Jay to get some input. Cool? Cool.

Spending more time with this music takes no effort. What takes effort is attempting not to spend all my time jamming to it, which happens every time I attempt to finish the list. :-)

The Hitchhiker’s Guide to The Annual Jam 2009
* Jams mentioned as favorites are marked with a star. If we’re certain who’s playing what, it’s been mentioned (though remembering what everybody was doing during two days of boozing is understandably difficult). Enjoy The Jam! :-D
Friday
Ankle* - Upbeat guitar and hand drum track. Sounds like Joby and Jay Shin* - Driving minor key jam. Guitar and kit. Same players Femur* - Deep, marching bass groove with drums + cymbals. Think I hear Nick come in (we also hear a bunch of people arriving, ready to party) Knee – Jay starts out DJ-scratching his bass and ends up grinding away at it Pinky Toe* – Wicked bouncy drum jam, heavy on frog! Jay and Joby on the hand drum table with Nad on the frog Metatarsal – Cataclysm of percussion surrounds more grinding bass, including kit, hand drums, maracas, tambourines, cow bells, wood blocks, and more! Hip – All-in drum jam, with a funky bass hopping on for the ride, and some quiet guitar solo Anterior Band* – Great medium pace drum jam with somebody playing around on bamboo reeds Calf – Somebody’s-best-Sublime-impression Guitar chords and a solo over a few hand drums, blocks, and bells Clavicle* – Finger-plucked guitar, rambling over a steady beat of drums, kit, and blocks (energy really picks up after minute two, then again at 3) Ulna – Growing chorus of hand drums and a vibra-flex jam. (Around 2:10 the drummers start riffing like Metallica for some reason. Maybe it’s the thunder tube!) Trapezium – Groovy bass with laid-back hand drums Triquetral – Galloping guitar over clicking sticks, drums and crashes Humerus – Nad and Jay rock heavy on the Cranberries’ “Zombie” (Jacob screams the finale) Scapula – Same chords, but with an I-just-might-get-you-in-the-night bass and this-light-makes-my-ears-bleed-rainbows guitar Mandible – Jay, Nad harmonica jam! (Note the drums getting louder and louder, as if in desperate attempt to drown them out) Talus – Tight, fast drum jam with somebody slammin on wood blocks Friday End – Rain sticks. Ah, yes… rain sticks
Saturday
Ethmoid* – Jay’s bass has a nice bounce to it. A bright, 3-piece of Joby, guitar; Jay, bass; Nad, drum table Temporal* – A blues ditty in Amin (Dmin, Emin). Fantastic for jamming solos to in the minor pentatonic blues scale. Joby, Jay, Nad again. Fingers* – Joby plugs into Jay’s effects and Nad takes the kit. Jay provides steady, if ominous-sounding, grounding. Sounds like it’s from an early Tool album Big Toe – Heavy, echoing bass line with excitable drums behind it Forearm* – Tight, excellent drum jam. Someone jams the bamboo about halfway through. Summation – Hey everybody! NICK WASN’T DRUNK ON FRIDAY!! Incus – Drum jam. Somebody’s on kit hitting the toms hard. Awesome wood blocks. Vague recorder. Triangle. Shakers. A bell. Much laughter and celebration in the background. Thigh* – Space rock. Jay, steady rocking heavy on bass, pounding hand drums, and Nad doing a dreamy Dandy Warhols kinda thing Elbow* – Jay, Nad and hand drummers rock the hell out of E, D, G, A. This is one we been jamming for a little while now… We think Pericardium – Nad, Jay and blocks blast through “Hey Joe” Tibia – A, G, C, D, (C). Mellow jam. Jay and Nad have rocked this one forEVER. Joby lays down a roaming, infectious lead over it all Forehead – Amin, E, Amin, Dmin guitar/ bass/ hand drums jam with a guitar solo over it (Joby rhythm, Nad lead, Jay bass) Left Ventricle – Jay jams some effects with really fast drums. Lots of blocks, toms, and some bamboo Right Ventricle – Jay continues to jam with drums (Nick must really get along with his neighbors) Tarsal* – Shakers, lots of fast moving drums, blocks and a washboard joins in a bit later (it’s just a tad off rhythmically.. but hey, it was late!)(Lol… Jay also says “Had to get that out of my system,” at the end) Busted Ass Fibula* – Joby’s damn ass favorite with Jay on the bass and Joby playing lead. Sartorius – Awesome Jay bass line accompanied only by a shaker and block beat… And then the drums Soleus – Quick blues in A (we need to start practicing in more keys!) Navicular – Rambling, up-tempo guitar chords and a recorder. Sounds like a real-live Rockford jam band! (Long live Seed) Medulla* – More space rock. Possibly in an E major scale? Nad, guitar; Jay, bass Belly – Marching guitar line in A, accompanied by a hand drum and tambourine. Then Nick joins on kit. You can tell we’re wearing down, finally (“keep it going, I’ll be right there,” Jay chimes in, as we end after five minutes) Duodenum – Perfect mellow ending: Nick singing like he’s in Rusted Root
