With the 2013 jam fast approaching, and it being the 10th anniversary of the annual jam, we really must come up with a best of the annual jam. I'm thinking we limit it to two cd's recorded in standard cd format. That's going to limit the number of tracks to 20 - 30 depending on how long the jams are that are chosen.
I've already chatted with Nad about this a few times, so I know that he and I are already thinking about it, but I want to get input from anyone else viewing this forum (Jay, Sarah, etc...).
Let's use this thread to track our thoughts on the "best of" cd set. I'll throw out there that we need a version of temporal and fingers, but I'm not sure which versions from what year yet. I'd also suggest "Busted Ass Fibula" from 2009, "Chase" from 2011, and "Binary Star" from 2012.
I'll have plenty more as we move forward with this. We've got a limited amount of time to narrow a very large list down to where it will fit on two audio cd's, so we'll have to make final decisions in the next couple of months.

A few things i've come up with so far:
- the CD should include all the vocal interludes Joby has captured: "Pants," "Don't Mind me, I'm insignificant" (<-- **a good album NAME?**) and "I've been drinking since 8 am!"
- "Party Pop Bag" should almost certainly be the closer. "Pure Awesomeness" ("Through the Roof" Gogol cover) is also a definite.
- I envision the original "Temporal" opening. Simple. Catchy. Actually opened a night when we did it.
- Other tracks: 2012- Glittering Willow, Speedboat, Happiness, Metropolis, Proud Peacock, Butterfly, Night Flower, [Party Pop Bag, Pure Awesomeness]..... 2011- Jacob's Jam, Drops of Jupiter, Bitch, Bacon, Down Boy, Tosa (A GREAT FINGERS JAM), Dalmation (MISERLOU extended!). And yeah, i'll second Chase, some cool soloing there. 2010- FROGS for sure! Maybe Dionysus? (I haven't listened to this one a lot recently, so could use some help...) 2009- Joby's right on with Busted Ass Fibula. [Temporal is from here, too.] Other possibilities include Pinky Toe and Ankle (i just dig the frog)? 2008- (eh? Dunno... )

I've been slacking Nado. Looks like you put a lot of work into this list, and reading through it, I agree 100%. I'll listen to them all to see if I can get a feel for what order they should be in. Should we shoot for a chronological order overall with exceptions where applicable?

It's finally finished and posted to the download area, and there's a news item about it on the home page. It took some doing, but we got it done. Thanks a ton for all the help Nado!
