Gentlemen,
The Annual Jam Folk Song you both contributed to is far to awesome not to put up here. This was its debut year, and it was a little less than refined, what with you two holding the others verse notes in your mouth while playing your instrument, let alone me having no idea how to get the Line 6 to accept a microphone.
I think we have no option but to get better at that jam, and possibly expand it; you never know. This thread should be devoted to all things Annual Jam Folk Song, including but not limited to, the chord progression, rhythm, chorus, verses (currently existing and yet to come).
Get it posted up here for the rest of us (including you) to learn, and we'll kill it next year!

(Verse):
And your verse, it goes here starting with a fridge full of beer and the Jim Beam bandits pour shots for all their friends dear
And we all became pilgrims traveling to Rockford with all our gear where the fire burns high and we wait for the smoke to clear

(Verse):
With their guitars and their strings and their drums and their things that make the silence disappear
the drums they keep time and the percussion it rhymes and everything becomes so clear
(Verse):
We love to play music and jam all the time in the garage we drink and we play and get high and now we sing and we bring a new tone to the night your soul will dance and we all feel alright
(Verse):
Load up the car and we'll hit the sand bar 'cause the lazy river will take you real far and when the lights turn low you'll see the glow of BURNING GUITAR
The grill will burn hot with bacon and brisket don't be late to the table or you're gonna miss it with Jim and Jack and vodka and bourbon and just a bit more and we'll all be slurrin'

The chord progression is: G, D, C, G, D...
The first three chords are a 4-count, the last two are a 2-count, then back to the beginning. Over and over till it ends (or doesn't)...
Here are my three verses so far:
VERSE 1: I was once a young rogue Wanderin'... with no real plans Just an out-of-tune song in me voice And an ooold guitar in my hands.
Then I met some good friends We pulled out the DRUMS right away Now I smile, though I still wander... Tooo this verrry day!
VERSE 2: Someone PLEASE grab the mic! And tell me.. What do you like? Is it RUM? Or sleeping past 2p.m.? We've got that in spades, my friend.
And do.. YOU.. feel Mexican yet? I been drinking since 8, but I'll surely bet That we'll have fires roaring at 7 in the morning WHILE we all smoke and sweat.
VERSE 3: There's a certain TRIBAL CONNECTION From this ground, up THROUGH THE ROOF Like when we play 'Fingers' or 'Diddly Bow' And all our minds melt in a poof
Can you please tell me - WHERE ARE MY PANTS?? I've got some Beam and I'm ready to dance! Dave, please don't tell me that it's insignificant We're together and I think that's the trick of it..
